Cooking Steak For Dinner

Steak is one of the basic ingredients of international cuisine for dinner, regardless of its specificity; the only variations you would find are regarding its cooking modes and seasonings. But, if you do not know how to cook the steak properly, then you tend to ruin a perfectly good piece of meat. Anyone can eat a steak, but a bit of skill and practice, is needed to cook the perfect steak. The following tips will help you learn how to prepare, and cook the perfect steak:

You can find different types of steak corresponding to its cut, which include: filet mignon, rib eye steak, chuck steak, cube steak, sirilion steak, T-bone steak, strip steak, round steak among others. Its cut determines how long the steak will need to be cooked and the method used to cook it. Steak is a great complement to any meal and can be enjoyed in a variety of ways.

You may prepare the steak for cooking by following these simple steps:

  • Defrost the steak if it is frozen. Keep it in a pan at room temperature and allow it to thaw slowly. You may also defrost it in a microwave if you wish to quicken the process.
  • Remove any excessive areas of fat from the steak.
  • While cutting the steak in smaller pieces, always cut it against the grain to preserve or improve tenderness.
  • After thawing, marinate it to tenderize the meat, and allow it to stand with marinade for a few hours if necessary.
  • Once marinated, you can use choice seasoning for example salt, pepper, garlic, onion among others to season the meat
  • The steak can be prepared by grilling, frying on the stove top or in the oven.
